It’s been months since we’ve gotten a new release from Benny Mayne, who dropped an extraordinary EP in July. While it doesn’t really count as a brand new release per se, Benny did upload something special to IGTV and YouTube yesterday AND today – acoustic versions of “HURT ME" and “THE WORST,” two of our favorite songs off the EP.⁣

“HURT ME” already perfectly captured the feeling of having to come to terms with how attached to someone you are, as well as the frustration and desperation when things look like they might be going downhill with that person. The acoustic version, performed by Benny and Julz adds another layer of rawness to the track and cuts just a little deeper. With “THE WORST,” we are blessed with a new location, but the same Benny, who's live vocal performance backed by limited guitar strums sounds almost better live than the studio version. Both visuals, a dnz media production, add a nice final touch to the works, with an emotive and cleverly minimal lighting design as the literal highlight of both videos with their respective locations.⁣
